Dawn League Run Club

At Dawn League, we aim to bring the Albury-Wodonga community together. We offer an active, social, and competitive environment where everyone, regardless of background, feels welcome. Whether you prefer running on tracks, roads, or trails, we have something for everyone.

We support newcomers, seasoned runners, and those looking to improve, providing a sense of belonging for those who haven’t found their place in the area.

Our focus is to help individuals achieve their goals, feel proud, and have a safe space to share their experiences. We promote community support to boost confidence, encouraging healthy lifestyles and camaraderie, no matter your running level.

Wednesday Morning Track Club

Every Wednesday at 05:45 Dawn League meet at the Les O’Brien Athletics Complex in Albury for a track session programmed and run by coach Mathieu Dore with all abilities and ages welcome.

These sessions are run in 12-week blocks, focusing on short 200m intervals up to 30-minute Fartlek workouts, which incorporate all your speed work to take your training to the next level.

This session does incur a cost due to the track use. Breakdown is:

  • $10 - Drop-In

  • $100 - 12 Week Block

  • $5 - U18

Wednesday Night Trails & Ales

This is not a Dawn League run. This is Trails & Ales, Albury.

A longstanding social run with a sister event in Bright, held on Tuesday nights and starting at the top of Range Road at 18:00 on Wednesdays. A different lead runner chooses their route each week, covering 7-9km in about one hour, with regular regrouping, especially at climbs. Open to anyone comfortable running this distance and enjoying conversation.

After the run, there is usually an esky or two (or even a home brew system if you're really lucky) where you're welcome to linger and enjoy a drink (whether soft or alcoholic, there’s no pressure) while getting to know everyone.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-week group trail run with an excellent crew that Dawn League members frequently participate in.

Friday Morning Frankies

This is not a Dawn League run. This is Frankies.

Every Friday morning, three groups set off from Frankies Milk Bar in West Albury before coming back together to enjoy well-earned coffee and croissants.

All the routes follow the footpaths to start before hitting the trails. They incorporate one main climb on Nail Can and cruise along the ridge trail back to Frankies by 07:20.

The groups are:

  • 06:00 Start time - 10km: Running the flats @ 6:00min/km average pace.

  • 06:05 Start time - 12.5km: Running the flats @ 5:15/km average pace.

  • 06:10 Start time - 14.5km: Running the flats @ 4:40/km average pace.

At Dawn League, we encourage everyone to engage and contribute. However, when you contact us or see things happening, it is likely one of these 3 will be behind it.
